Our LGBTQIA+ Book Club is a blend of queer folk and allies from the local community who come together on one of the first Tuesdays of each month. We discuss a chosen title while providing a safe space to foster community. We strive to choose quality reads with positive and/or realistic queer representation; though we do recognize that such criteria is subjective to individual taste and experience.
We do not require you to purchase the book from our store to attend but certainly appreciate and encourage it as it helps fund the work we do. We typically select titles available in paperback to keep costs down.
In January we will discuss Hijab Butch Blues, "A queer hijabi Muslim immigrant survives her coming-of-age by drawing strength and hope from stories in the Quran in this “raw and relatable memoir that challenges societal norms and expectations” (Linah Mohammad, NPR)."
